The MLL has fined the Warrington Football Team 5 pre-draft pints following an independent review into the culture of the organisation.
Trouble began following criticism of the teams branding in 2019- the original name “Warrington Fiveskins” rumoured by many to be a tongue in cheek mocking of Jewish and American communities (and ducky). Further investigation revealed a number of incidents involving bullying and intimidation. One source revealed that in 2020 the WFT sent packages to other organisations containing threatening and deriding material following wins against the MattMossMandem. GM of the WFT Max Holland has been approached for comment but is yet to respond.
The fine has been settled with the commissioner of the MLL who released the following statement: ” The MLL is grossly disappointed with the findings of the report into conduct at the Warrington Football Team. The fine sends a clear message to all members of the MLL that discrimination in any form will not be tolerated or fines will be issued. The fine will be used to support the 2021 MLL draft and to develop the MLL into the premium NFL Fantasy competition in the world.
